Trees Conyers - Planting Trees - Protecting Our Future

DSC000321Trees Conyers, Inc. is a local nonprofit, tax-exempt 501(c)(3) qualified organization dedicated to tree planting and preservation in the city of Conyers, Georgia and Rockdale County.  Trees Conyers was formed by local business owners, homeowners and citizens to encourage and facilitate the planting of trees on private and public property, and to promote the preservation of trees in the community.

Trees enhance the aesthetic quality of our community, benefit our economic base, and improve our local environment, including the quality of the air we breathe and the water we drink.  Commercial and residential property owners in the city of Conyers and Rockdale County are now responsible for stormwater utility fees. The addition of trees to commercial property can decrease the amount of impervious surface and may provide these property owners a reduction in stormwater utility rate.

hillandried2Strategically placed trees save energy for both residential and commercial property owners by providing cooling shade in the hotter months and by providing a windbreak during the winter.

Trees are an important economic development tool. The Georgia Urban Forestry Commission has determined that the presence oftrees improves a community’s economic stability by attracting businesses and tourism, and by increasing property values. At the same time, trees develop and enhance community pride.
